Calling for an ambulance

- Always know where you are. Provide the call taker with directions or coordinates to where you need an ambulance.

- Tell us exactly what happened. By giving the call taker as much information, we can plan accordingly and notify hospitals or air ambulances ahead of time, if needed.

- Keep your phone nearby. Be sure you provide a WORKING callback number incase the responding crew needs to call for better directions.

- Prepare for the crew's arrival. Gather the patient's medications, put all pets away, ensure gates and locks are opened, clear a path to the patient.
